The AbenaOye Foundation was founded in honour of two extraordinary women whose lives continue to inspire its purpose: Elizabeth, the grandmother of our founder, and Diana, her mother. Through their resilience, compassion, and unwavering belief in the transformative power of education, they demonstrated that opportunity has the power to change lives, families, and communities.
Inspired by their legacy, the Foundation was established to create opportunities for girls and women who have the potential to succeed but often lack access to the resources, skills, and mentorship needed to do so. Recognising the growing importance of technology in shaping the future, the Foundation is committed to equipping girls and women across Ghana with practical digital skills, mentorship, and pathways to meaningful careers and leadership.
What began as a tribute to two remarkable women has grown into a mission to empower the next generation of female innovators, professionals, and leaders. Through initiatives such as The Kwadie Club, rural technology education programmes, mentorship, and digital empowerment initiatives, the AbenaOye Foundation is building a future where every girl and woman has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive.
